10t double girder overhead crane

Recently, a customer contacted us regarding a breakdown of an old travel motor of a 10-ton double girder overhead crane in their facility.

When we arrived at their facility, we found that it was not a malfunction but rather that due to the passage of time, the flange had broken, and several cracks had appeared in the support of one of the travel motors, which prevented the proper functioning of the overhead crane.

The breakdown was only present in one of the two travel motors of the overhead crane, but due to wear and tear, the same thing would happen on the other end soon. For safety reasons, it was preferable to replace both motors and avoid another production stop for the customer.

As it was an old travel motor, a simple replacement was not possible, so we had to look for two similar new motors. We also had to design two flanges to fit them to the narrower ones than the previous one.

After replacing the motors and adjusting the flanges, the overhead crane was in perfect condition for safe and efficient operation.

At Hidrarel, we have been working on the maintenance of overhead cranes for decades, so we can repair very old equipment. If this is the case in your installation, do not hesitate to contact us through our contact form or by phone and let us know what happened.
